Colin Crosbie is a man with plenty of experience behind him. Some would call him a former adventurer, although from our perspective, it would seem that not all of those adventures are now in the rear view mirror. In the late 60s, Colin hit the road from his native Edinburgh to travel the well-worn hippie trail through Europe and then Asia. His solo odyssey eventually found him at Eudlo, north of Brisbane. There, he helped establish and launch Australia’s first Tibetan Buddhist meditation centre, the Chenrezig Institute.
Since then, Colin has served as builder, cook, karma yoga coordinator, assistant director and director of the Institute. All the while, Colin has had the companion of music in his life. From playing tunes simply to clear his head, Colin was encouraged by those around him to take his hobby more seriously. The result is Colin’s first album of his own songs, A Miracle Life recorded in Melbourne at the age of 58.
As with other aspects of his life, Colin Crosbie’s music pursuits are largely driven by altruism. You’ll find messages aplenty in Colin’s songs, drawn in great swathes of colour from the palette of his own life experiences. Colin’s goal, however, is to donate the bulk of his music income toward charitable causes.
We hope he makes a motza.
